Meet Jamie Allred

We’re thrilled to welcome Jamie Allred to the J Club family of fitness instructors. With decades of experience in aquatics and a passion for teaching, Jamie brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to our fitness programming.

A lifetime of aquatic expertise

Jamie’s journey in the world of aquatics began over 40 years ago when she became a certified Red Cross swim instructor in 1983. Since then, she has dedicated her life to teaching individuals of all ages the essential skills of water safety and swimming. As a mother of three and a grandmother of seven, Jamie understands the importance of instilling confidence and competence in the water.

Credentials and expertise

Jamie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly Pomona. Her credentials include certifications as a water aerobics instructor and arthritis foundation water therapy instructor. Jamie has served as a head coach for high school teams, swim clubs and owned her own swim school in California.

Join the fun

Jamie leads two water aerobics classes per week at J Club’s pools. She invites all to join the fun and get moving in the water. Her dynamic classes are designed to cater to all fitness levels while providing a refreshing workout experience.

She’s also teaching private and semi-private swim lessons for anyone aged 2 to 102. Her teaching philosophy focuses on personalized attention, water safety, and building confidence in her students.  From teaching basic water survival skills to coaching competitive strokes for swim teams and triathletes, Jamie’s dedication to making students feel comfortable and confident in the water is unmatched.

Water aerobics and swim lessons are open to J Club members and non-members.

Water aerobics

Water aerobics are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 a.m. in the lap pool. To register for a class, visit J Club’s online fitness calendar online or the Mindbody app.

You’ll need to register for an account if you’ve never used Mindbody before. We have a collection of short videos to help you through the process.

Swim lessons

Swim lessons are taught on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Choose from a 30-minute private lesson (one student) or a 45-minute semi-private lesson (two students).

Contact the J Club front desk daily between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. to enroll in lessons. Non-members must purchase a day pass or non-resident membership option.
